- 4th year raising money and participating in the Maryland Polar Bear plunge
- Nominated for the Kent County Chamber of Commerce “Community Service Award”
- February marked our 3rd Year Anniversary
- Held Tobacco vendor education in partnership with Kent County Health Department
- Attended the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland “Youth Event” for Maryland school systems
- Vice-President Paul Tue honored by 100 Men of Distinction, honoring the top African American men on the Eastern Shore – March, 2016
- President John Queen, candidate for Kent County School Board, joins in presentation forums with other candidates at the Community Breakfast Group and at Kent County Library – April, 2016
- Easter Egg Hunt Event at Wilmer Park in partnership with Kent County Health Department and M.O.T.A. Over 250 members of the community attended
- Won 1st and 2nd Place at Caroline County “No to Tobacco” basketball tournament - April 2016
- Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Whitsitt Center for volunteer work on gazebo
- Presentation of program to Town of Chestertown Council
- May 7, 2016 - Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with Town of Chestertown for Gateway Park
- Currently serving over 150 youth in the Bayside H.O.Y.A.S. Program
- May 25, 2016 - 2nd Annual Youth Empowerment Summit at Town Hall with Town of Chestertown and other community organizations
- June 4, 2016 – H.O.Y.A.S. visited the Ruth Starr Rose art exhibit in Unionville, Maryland with the Chestertown Spy
- June 28th & 29th – H.O.Y.A.S. Vice-President Paul Tue and Board Member Larry Samuels attend the Undoing Racism Workshop presented by the Institute for Survival & Beyond group sponsored by the Kent County Family & Community Partnership
- June 30, 2016 - Presentation to Community Breakfast Group (CBG) on program and funding challenges
- Second year of funding provided for H.O.Y.A.S. College Preparation & Intervention Program (CPIP)
- September 18, 2016 – CPIP students paint mural on Tractor Supply Co. building in Kent Plaza, in coordination with Washington College Sandbox and RiverArt initiatives
- O.Y.A.S. sponsored High School basketball team in Maryland Elite Basketball tournament at Washington College
